THE QUEEN PUBLIC HOUSE
BRIXTON, LONDON
Planning Consent 2005
The building consists of a new public house with 14 residential units above, and will replace the existing Victorian 'Queen' public house at the junction with Bellefields and Pulross Roads.
The triangular site occupies an important junction on the eastern approach to Brixton High Street. The building rises under a zinc ski slope roof from 2 storeys next to the Victorian terraces up to 4 storeys where it addresses the corner to the west.
The main facades comprise simple 3 storey rendered elements along Bellefields and Pulross Roads, out of which emerges a timber clad tower structure which marks the western tip.
