ROYAL SCHOOL OF CHURCH MUSIC
DORKING, SURREY
1992-2003
The new headquarters, teaching, publishing and performance facility for the Royal School of Church Music involved the complete reorganisation, renovation
and conversion of a dilapidated country house in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The key challenge was reconciling the relationship between public and private space within the existing building fabric. The creation of a radically new and spacious reception hall provided the fulcrum around which to reorganise the circulation and building plan, ensuring easy visual orientation for the visitor.
