William McMorran BA Hons Dip Arch RIBA, Director
Director in charge of the West Midlands office, William studied architecture at Newcastle University and the Polytechnic of Central London. Before setting up his own practice in 1984, he worked as an assistant architect with Arup Associates for six years. He was project designer for the Liverpool Garden Festival Main Exhibition Hall and the Imperial War Museum, Phase One Extension, Southwark.  Arup Associates is a fully integrated multi discipline architectural practice.  Close team working between the design consultants is a principal that William has imbedded into the ethos of the practice.
William’s first commission as a private architect for Clyde Petroleum plc won the RIBA National and Regional Architecture Award for a library and offices building in the Malvern Hills, and the Civic Trust Award in 1989 . Since then the practice has grown with projects often involving the introduction of new build into listed building settings and conversion of existing buildings to new uses.  William is currently  leading the consultant team to establish the design brief for the Hereford Integrated Library, in addition to designing a new dementia care facility for a national specialist care charity.

William Mcmorran

Simon Gatehouse BA Hons Dip Arch RIBA, Director
Director in charge of the London Office, Simon completed his Part I training at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, followed by some time working for Biro et Fernier Architects in Paris before he returned to complete his training at the University of the South Bank.
After qualifying in 1984, he worked for 5 years at Chapman Taylor Partners, rising to executive group architect. Projects for which he was responsible for include: luxury offices and apartments in Pimlico and headquarter offices off the Strand for Lancaster Holdings Ltd.
In 1989 Simon teamed up with William McMorran to form McMorran and Gatehouse Architects; here he has handled numerous high profile projects leading the recent Lewes Library project and completing the Reay School Performing Arts Centre and new music teaching and administrative headquarters for the Royal School of Church Music. Currently working with Southwark Council on the provision of sports facilities within the historic landscape setting of Belair Park.
Since 1998 he has led the development of the practice’s work in housing with both public and private sector clients.
Fluent in written and spoken French and is a member of the Royal Borough of Kingston Design Review Panel, a Governor at Elliot School, Wandsworth and Chair of Elliot PTA

Marco Guevara BA Hons Dip Arch MArch RIBA, Associate Director
After completing an undergraduate degree at the  Pontifical University of Javeriana in Colombia, Marco moved to the UK to complete his postgraduate studies at Kingston University.  Marco has had a variety of international architectural experience, and is a qualified architect in both Colombia and the UK.
Marco joined McMorran & Gatehouse in 2008 and is a senior member of the team. He has considerable experience of large and small-scale projects in both new build and refurbishment. Prior to 2008, Marco undertook master-planning and residential development projects with MLRS Architects where he worked for four years.  Here, he acted as a Project Architect and team member detailing large projects such as the £40M Wall Hall residential scheme in Aldenham, and the £12M Somerhill Avenue in Hove. Previously Marco has worked at Ujeta & Galvis Co. in Santafe de Bogota,Colombia as an onsite architectural assistant to the La Rochelle residential development, and as a CAD technician at Digitales Ltda.
Fluent in written and spoken Spanish and an intermediate level of Portuguese.  Marco has  a keen interest in music, computing, and travel.
